A standard is something against which we measure performance. Targets for students at St Bernard’s are set based on Key Stage 2 Data for Maths and English Reading (where available).
Targets for all our students are aspirational and challenging as we have the highest expectations for our students. For our SEND student’s careful consideration of their individual needs is taken into account when setting their targets in order to ensure their specific needs are being met.
Targets are set within a grade band. The lowest grade in the band is the minimum expectation and the highest grade in the band is a challenging, aspirational target. We believe that students should have high aspirations and work to towards the top of their band, thus making exceptional progress.
